Crocodiles - I Wanna Kill
I downloaded this album from Amie Street yesterday, and this track was one of the ones that stood out on the subway ride home; it appears that a fair number of other people downloaded it yesterday and liked it, if the Tweetmachine is any indication. Love the ’80s-ness of it. - whitneymcn

trmw:
Warp’s new website is up, designed by Universal Everything. It’s dangerously close to information overload; it took me a second to figure out where exactly I should be looking for what. But I think it works. I’m definitely into the use of huge images and streaming media — audio AND video — which can be embedded other places. Also cool to see their various film efforts integrated into the main site; I assume this is the reason they changed the domain from warprecords.com to simply warp.net.
In related news, I just downloaded this old Warp release off eMusic, and I’m totally enjoying it. Some if it sounds like what might have happened had Bleep decided to step a little closer to Trance, and that’s totally OK with me. Once you go there — which I totally did, in high school — you can never fully go back. Maybe.

“I always hated the word career. It implies that fame and fortune are what you’re trying to get. I have a life’s purpose.” - Pete Seeger

Here are general statements about my perception of how this album will sound without ‘actually hearing it’:
- I think it will be an album that ‘lingers around ur iTunes’ for a long time.
- I feel like this album will be ‘74% more accessible’ than Merriweather Post Pavillion.
- I feel like it will be 47% less authentic-core than Grizzly Bear’s album Veckatimest
- I feel like Passion Pit’s ‘best album’ will be in 2 albums (for no real reason), but they will eventually be considered ‘better’ and ‘more fun’ than Animal Collective as AnCo gets ‘too conceptual’ for people to even ‘pretend to appreciate any more.’
- Panda Bear will make the best album of 2k10, writing a song called “Bros Pt 2: He Seems Like a Chill Bro.”
- Animal Collective will eventually ‘break up’ but then get back together in 10 years, playing their first show at Coachella, then selling out large auditoriums for $50-$80 per ticket.
What are some predictions that yall have about the future of the Conceptual-Core genre?
