Nylon Jun/July 09 Music Issue- rock out indeed.
I felt compelled to post this primarily because of the main cover line (I kept getting ‘oh look, it’s your issue’ from people). The rocking out aside, I love reading nylon because many friends and acquaintances often grace the pages of the magazine (giving it more of a cool local zine feeling for me than a national publication).
But of course, the music issue is going to catch my attention a bit more. My favorite features of this issue?
- social studies: ladies who run labels (p.66)- 3 amazing ladies doing one my dream jobs
- directory: band aids ‘Just the Two of Us’ (p.92)- rockstar muses and the iconic fashion pieces that defined them
- private icon: riot grrrls (p.100)- music’s rebel girls and the beauty products that kept them looking hot in that ‘anti-pretty, pretty’ way
