The snow’s not quiet falling yet here in Philadelphia, but it’s close. Not sure why there’s an association between winter weather and certain kinds of music, and I don’t think many people could describe how to make it. You’d probably want to start like Justin Vernon and hole yrself up in a cabin in the woods. Not sure where Ed Riman went to record this, but he seems to be summoning a soft blanket of powder to dust the windowsills while a hot cup of tea gentle sits steaming on his piano.
