Desert Stars - Past in the Trash

When you’ve lived in the desert as I have, you come to know the sensation of carrying it with you everywhere you go. That vastness, the open space, the dusty hands and crystal blue skies. It’s no coincidence  then, that despite living in Brooklyn, this group crafts songs as though they were living in a yurt outside of Taos, New Mexico. Songwriter Janelle Best is simply summoning her own piece of the wilderness. There’s a dusty quality to this music, while still being deceptively supple like a saguaro cactus.  

The band is rounded out by Carrie Ashley Hill, Gregg Giuffre, and Eric Altesleban with Jane Herships on bass on this track. The video was directed by Phillip Kibbe. Keep your eye on their Bndcmp for more soon.
